“The HCCVB and the Hendricks County Super Celebration Site Committee have been actively seeking a way to participate in the community initiatives led by the Host Committee for the 2012 Super Bowl,” said Jaime Bohler Smith, associate director for the HCCVB. “When the Super Cure initiative was announced, a beloved friend of the HCCVB was still fighting a lengthy battle with the disease.
“With Sandy Lencke’s recent passing, we are glad to see this promotion come together to honor her memory,” she added.
In addition to the Oct. 2 event, six locally owned salons will continue providing the Super Feathers to customers through Oct. 31. Those salons include:

“I’m just so pleased we can utilize our talents to give back because that is so important for us and this community,” said Christin Guilinger, owner of Salon Nouveaute. “Feathers have made an overwhelming impact in our industry. To be able to use that fashion to raise awareness about a disease that impacts so many people is exciting.”
