An estimated 40 wonderfully themed and permanently decorated trees will be displayed during “It’s Christmas Time Again,” the 23rd annual TreeFest Nov. 18-22 at the Warren Performing Arts Center (WPAC) on the campus of Warren Central High School, 9500 E. 16th St., Indianapolis.

TreeFest is presented by the Warren Arts & Education Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that funds grants for a wide variety of educational activities in Warren Township Schools. This special event has served as a traditional kick-off to the holiday season on the city’s far-eastside for two decades—although the event is enjoyed by holiday enthusiasts across the metro area, not just Warren Township.

Trees of all shapes and sizes will be available for purchase and range anywhere from 10-foot timbers embellished by professional designers to compact two-and-a-half foot creations decorated by area celebrities.  All trees are for sale, and can be purchased prior to or during TreeFest. The trees are ideal for home or the office, and will be delivered free within a 25-mile radius of Indianapolis following the conclusion of the event.

Area choirs and dance groups will provide on-going entertainment throughout TreeFest on the WPAC stage, including a concert by the 85-piece Indianapolis Symphonic Band Tuesday, Nov. 22 from 7-8:30 p.m. A gift shop will offer the latest in holiday décor items, including one-of-a-kind treasures, and refreshments will be available for purchase.

Admission is $4 for adults, $3 for seniors (60+ years) and students; children five and under are free. Hours are Nov. 18, 3:30-8 p.m.; Nov. 19, 12-4 p.m.; Nov. 20, 12-8 p.m., and Nov. 21 and 22, 3:30-8 p.m.

Another event associated with TreeFest is the second annual Teddy Bear Picnic, which takes place Saturday, Nov. 19 from 10-11:30 a.m. at the WPAC. This event welcomes children two through 10 to bring their favorite teddy bears or other stuffed animals to enjoy breakfast, costumed characters, music, storytelling, and a special appearance by Mr. & Mrs. Santa Claus. Tickets are $5 per person; each child must be accompanied by an adult.  Reservations and pre-payment are required.

Later that same evening, a festive buffet dinner plus fantastic silent and live auctions will take place from 6:30-10 p.m. at the Community Life Center, 10612 E. Washington St. Tickets are $30 per person; reservations are required.

Contact the Foundation office, (317) 869-4383 or log on www.warrenfoundation.org for additional information about the event, to purchase a tree, or to make event reservations.
