Once again, the Christmas Gift & Hobby Show invites numerous not-for-profit organizations to exhibit at Indiana’s largest holiday shopping event Nov. 9-13 at the Indiana State Fairgrounds’ West Pavilion.
Not-for-profits will share their heartfelt stories with guests, accept donations, promote campaign awareness and sell unique products throughout the five-day run of the show, all for a worthy cause.
“While we invite hundreds of retailers to our special event, we also hope that shoppers won’t discount the importance of giving gifts that give back, which often times can be overlooked in the midst of the holidays,” said Donell Heberer Walton, executive director of HSI Show Productions, Inc.
Among this year’s groups are:
Boy Scout Troop 96. The Boy Scouts of America provides a program for young people that builds character, trains them in the responsibilities of participating citizenship and develops personal fitness. As part of the show, the Boy Scouts will sell delicious fruit baskets.
CARA Charities. This year’s ornament was designed by the Firestone Firehawk in honor of CARA’s 30th anniversary! CARA’s mission is to promote and celebrate IndyCar racing by engaging in community projects that support children’s safety and well being, as well as the future of motorsports.
Easter Seals Crossroads. This organization offers a variety of services to help children and adults with disabilities and special needs address life’s challenges and achieve personal goals. Learn more on how you can make a contribution to help make a difference!
Indiana Christmas Tree Growers’ Association. As part of the Trees for Troops project, the Christmas Spirit Foundation, a branch of the Association, will ship over 200 donated Indiana trees to US servicemen and women to enjoy a bit of home-grown Hoosier holiday cheer.
NFL Super Bowl Host Committee. Visit the Committee’s promotional booth to learn more about volunteer opportunities and how to get involved with the big game months away.
Patriot Guard. While the event revolves around Veterans Day, don’t forget about the patriotic group that shows unwavering respect and support for those who risk their lives for America’s freedom and security.
US Marine Corp. Have your kids outgrown toys that are still in the original package? Bring them to the show for a needy child or family as part of the US Marine Corp’s annual “Toys for Tots” campaign. New unwrapped toys and cash donations will be accepted.
In addition, over 65,000 guests will enjoy browsing thousands of gift items from 350 exhibitors, stage entertainment by magician Marcus Lehmann, free antique appraisals by Dr. Lori, the talented trio of twisters Balloon Genuity, dance and musical acts, visits with Santa, pets to adopt, a Christmas Café and much more.
Show hours are 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday; 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday.
Advance tickets are $8 and available at all central Indiana Marsh, O’Malia and MainStreet Market locations now through Nov. 13, or online with an active coupon code on the show’s website.
Admission is $10 at the door for adults; $7 for seniors age 65 plus on Seniors’ Day Wednesday, Nov. 9 and Thursday, Nov. 10; free for active and retired US military personnel with valid ID on Veterans Day Friday, Nov. 11, and children 12 and under are free.
