3040 Indie Gallery, located at 3040 West 76th Street in Indianapolis, presents the “100 Under $100” debut exhibition and sale on Saturday, Nov. 19, 2011, 6-11 p.m.

To promote and support independent artists, 3040 Indie was created as a space where individuals needing a creative environment could come and have access to an art and multimedia studio, gallery and meeting areas without having to commit to renting/purchasing their own building/space.

“When I started out as an artist, I was working on a folding table under a pop-up tent in my backyard. I would have loved to have a space for a couple of days or weeks to just create, organize and get my thoughts together prior to a show. Setting up and tearing
down and getting rained/snowed on, or having the wind blow your work across the yard can be very stifling,” said owner Pete Brown said with a smile.

3040 Indie features a 500 square foot art studio and a nearly 1,000 square foot multimedia studio/gallery space with full climate controlled, kitchen and restroom amenities for artists of all types.

“We cater to visual artists, craftsmen, musicians, videographers, photographers, etc. My vision is to keep the spaces multi-purpose so that anyone with a need can feel at home here.”

“100 Under $100” is the debut exhibition and sale at the gallery, curated by Brown, featuring several artists that have already benefitted from 3040 Indie. The mission of the show is to feature at least 100 pieces with a maximum price of $99.99. Artists include a diverse collection of local, regional & international artists coming together with a variety of works in this pre-Black Friday gathering. Painting, photography, mixed media, prints and more.

“We’re hoping that our guests can take care of some of their holiday shopping done with the unique offerings and lower price points that we’re offering, all while supporting independent artists. It’ll be a great chance for these artists, and our guests, to
network and I’m also hoping to continue to spread the spaces’ mission along the way.”

Local, regional and international artists include Brown, Mike Altman, Jenny Elkins, Lydia Burris, Eric Breiner, Pamela Ashton, Mark Shirar, Joss Parker, Pieter Van Tongren, Tom Piotrowski, Feral Art, Alyssa Arney, Naomi María Szczesiul, Jessye Calkin, and Jenna Maynard.
