About Indianapolis City Ballet

Indianapolis City Ballet burst onto the Indianapolis arts scene in September 2009 with its Evening with the Stars gala-style program. The audience was enthusiastic and immediately embraced the new ballet presence. Created to add to the community, fill a void in the professional ballet scene and complement the dance and arts institutions already in Indianapolis, Indianapolis City Ballet seeks to build a ballet program that embraces the best of classical ballet and strives to define its contemporary development. In addition to its gala performances and a photography exhibition, Indianapolis City Ballet also offers a series of monthly master classes with some of the world’s most renowned teachers and artists uniting a community of dance in Indianapolis, providing unique and special opportunities for students and teachers alike. Videotaped question and answer sessions are featured online.
