On October 15, 2012, the Indianapolis City-County Council approved the proposed 2013 IndyGo budget. The budget for 2013 includes additional operating revenue for service enhancements. Changes to IndyGo service could include more frequent and added service, the addition of a new route and more direct routing.

The proposed service changes and implementation timeline will be explained at public hearings on Wednesday, November 7, 2012 at the Eugene and Marilyn Glick Indiana History Center, 450 West Ohio Street in downtown Indianapolis, at 12 p.m. and again at 5:30 p.m.

All 27 IndyGo routes serving downtown offer walking-distance access to this facility.

Proposed service enhancements for 2013 could include:

  • Routes 8, 10, 19, 39, and 87: Increased frequency.
  • Route 34: Addition of Sunday service.
  • Route 86: Addition of one new route, 86th Street Crosstown (Trader’s Point to Community Hospital North).

Proposed service realignments could include:

  • Route 5: Elimination of service to Elmira Street.
  • Route 11: Elimination of service to 33rd and Post (Crossroads).
  • Route 14: Extending service to Emerson Avenue at Interstate 465. Elimination of Southeastern Avenue/Ritter Avenue/Raymond Street loop.
  • Route 19: Elimination of service to 96th Street. Rerouting inbound service from Washington Boulevard to Central Avenue.
  • Route 21: Elimination of service to Mitthoefer Road at 30th Street.
  • Routes 34 and 28: Rerouting of service in the St. Vincent/N. Michigan Road area for improved late night and weekend service.
  • Route 34: Elimination of service to 9900 N. Michigan Road (ITT).
  • Route 30: Rerouting Arlington Avenue service to Shadeland Avenue.
