THE 91st ANNUAL INDIANAPOLIS HOME SHOW FACT SHEET

WHAT: The Indianapolis Home Show is the nation’s oldest and the Midwest’s largest home-focused extravaganza with more than 900 exhibits. Now in its 91st year, the Indianapolis Home Show offers thousands of products, decorating, construction and remodeling ideas for visitors to gather and compare.

The Indianapolis Home Show is produced by Marketplace Events, which produces 34 consumer shows in 20 markets that collectively attract 14,000 exhibitors, 1 million attendees and another 1 million unique web visitors annually.

WHEN: 10 days: Friday, January 25 through Sunday, February 3, 2013

WHERE: Indiana State Fairgrounds – West Pavilion, Exposition Hall

SPECIAL FEATURES:

Centerpiece Home!
Fischer Homes will build this year’s Centerpiece Home — a fully-constructed, decorated and landscaped home built entirely inside Exposition Hall, showing off the most current and exciting trends in architecture and style. Fischer Homes will be showcasing its Nottoway design with a French Country elevation. The home is 5,191 square feet, not including basement or garage. The Nottoway being constructed at the Home Show will have four bedrooms and three and a half baths located on the main two levels of the home.

Interior designer Joy Perkins from Touch of Class works with Christine Robbins of the Fischer Homes team in decorating the Centerpiece Home to showcase a variety of options for customizing the home interior using a “Rustic Luxe” theme. Landscaping comes courtesy of William H. Brown Landscaping in Zionsville.

Fischer Homes is now building in more than 29 locations in Carmel, Geist, Fishers, McCordsville, Zionsville, Westfield, Noblesville, Avon, Center Grove and Greenwood. New communities are anticipated throughout 2012-2013 in various areas of Indianapolis.

Feature Gardens Offer Greenery GALORE!
Nestled in the center of the West Pavilion and sprinkled throughout the entire Home Show space will be 25,000 square feet devoted to landscaping and gardening, with lavish, landscaped feature gardens! From lovely lilies and ravishing roses to dazzling dahlias and jazzy jasmines, the gardens will offer grandeur of greenery. The gardens will be produced by the area’s top landscape professionals, including: William H. Brown Landscape, Inc.; Fiano Landscapes; Lemcke Landscape, Inc.; Country Gardens Lawn & Landscape; Vive Exterior Design; Fireboulder/McCune, Inc. Outdoor Living; Justin’s Landscape; Dave’s Lawn and Landscape, Inc.; Bam Outdoor Lawn, Landscape and Tree Care; Litchfield Landscape; and MG Landscape and Irrigation.

Frank Knows How to Pick ‘Em
Frank Fritz calls himself a “modern day recycler.” He’s the bearded charmer on the History Channel’s show “American Pickers.” Starting early by collecting rocks and beer cans as a kid, Frank has always had a passion for antiques and junk. He will offer Home Show attendees his unique view on how he makes his picks and finds the treasure buried beneath the trash. He will appear at the Home Show on Saturday, January 26 ONLY, so don’t miss him! Get a look at some of Frank’s finds, and hear about his travels on a memorabilia-seeking mission.

One-of-a-Kind Arts, Antiques and Home Décor Pavilion
A special Arts, Antiques and Home Décor Pavilion will be open during the first weekend of the Home Show ONLY, Jan. 25-27, in the South Pavilion. Admission to the Indianapolis Home Show includes free admission to the “show within a show.” Visitors can enjoy nearly 60 local artists, antique dealers and interior designers. They will showcase individual pieces of artwork, the latest in home décor items and specialty antiques. Appraisers will also be onsite and available at the Pavilion all weekend, so bring your antiques and unique items of all kinds to be appraised! Don’t miss this featured show!

Do-It-Yourself with Gardening Guru Ahmed
One of today’s most sought-after celebrity landscapers and green experts, Ahmed Hassan is an accredited landscape designer, consultant and gardener. For years, he and his team surprised families with customized residential landscapes and upgraded homes on DIY Network’s “Yard Crashers.” Ahmed will appear at the Home Show on the Show’s second weekend, February 2-3. His love for everything green will be seen as he shows attendees how to dig into a great home, which starts with a solid landscape.

Get Wacky with Joey!

Chris Olsen is a nationally-known home and garden guru, designer, author, TV personality and public speaker. As master designer at his home and garden store, Botanica Gardens, Chris dares to be different with his unique designs. He will appear at the Home Show on Sunday, Jan. 27 and Monday, Jan. 28, sharing his landscape and gardening knowledge along with his unique flair for home decor and design.

Do You Need Some Rehab? Meet the Addict, Nicole Curtis
Nicole Curtis is a sweet-talking, hammer-swinging whirlwind on DIY Network’s “Rehab Addict.” She discovers historic houses once the pride of the neighborhood that have fallen on hard times. With her rough ‘n’ tough crew, she helps take a house that was ready for the wrecking ball and restore it to its former glory. Nicole will appear at the Home Show on Friday, Feb. 1 and Saturday, Feb. 2.

She’s Infarrantly Creative
Beckie Farrant is the chief designer of the site “Infarrantly Creative.” Her blogs feature a variety of trash-to-treasure projects, and she focuses on DIY pieces, crafts and home décor. Infarrantly Creative is Beckie’s place to showcase all her original projects along with hundreds of tutorials to inspire you and your own creativity! She will appear at the Home Show on Sunday, Jan. 27 and Monday, Jan. 28.

An Evening with the “Stars”
Presented by The Indianapolis Star, “An Evening with the Stars” brings the publication’s resident “Wine Dude” Robert Scheer along with food, wine and cooking expert Jolene Ketzenberger into the spotlight. Come learn some tasty tidbits about wine and the art of cuisine. Look for them on Saturday, Jan. 26 from 6-9 p.m.!

Hero Day – Jan. 25
Pay honor and tribute to all our heroes on Hero Day! All active and retired military, police and fire personnel get free admission for the day. Just bring a valid ID, and come enjoy the Home Show on opening day! All heroes will also have access to a private VIP lounge and receive “thank you” goody bags, while supplies last.

Marsh Day Monday – Jan. 28
Home Show visitors are invited to stop by the Marsh booth from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Marsh Day. The first 750 households to visit will receive a free reusable Marsh grocery bag, one per household, while supplies last. Mary Snell, Marsh Director of Nutrition and Wellness, will offer tips and tools regarding health and wellness as well as highlight Marsh’s in-store nutrition programs from 12-12:30 p.m. on Marsh Day on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage.

Grilling In The Garden – Jan. 28 – Jan. 31
Watch local chefs from Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar and Clark Appliance grill their favorite recipes in a beautiful garden setting nightly from 6 p.m. – 9 p.m. Learn their techniques and enjoy sampling their creations on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage!

Local Band Satisfies with Sweet Sounds
Indianapolis-based band bleedingkeys mixes folk, rock, blues and a bit of hip-hop to electrify audiences with a compelling sound in a class all its own. Singer-songwriter Jeremy Johnson helped form the band bleedingkeys with band members Jon Beaty, Matt Obras and Coty Leffingwell. They will appear at the Home Show on Friday, Feb. 1 from 6-8 p.m. as part of a VIP party hosted by 92.3 WTTS-FM.

Chili Cook-off
Things are getting hot at the Home Show! Stop by for a chance to watch cooks go head to head with their chili recipes — and see who can handle the heat!
