GearFest ’13 at Sweetwater Sound in Fort Wayne, June 21-22

Sweetwater Sound, the giant musical instruments and pro audio gear outlet in Fort Wayne, Indiana, hosts its annual GearFest today and tomorrow, June 21-22, 2013, at its campus in Allen County.
Ever been to Fry’s Electronics in Fishers? Geek heaven, eh? Well…Sweetwater is the same for musicians. Millions of dollars’ worth of gear, a killer recording studio, a state-of-the-art auditorium, an in-house cafeteria, indoor miniature golf, an impressive warehouse, and lots more. If you have the least interest in music and you’ve never been to Sweetwater Sound, it’s worth the trip just to take a walk through their incredible building.
GearFest is a huge open house, free to the public, that features two days of gear fanatics’ utopia: all the top manufacturer’s reps on hand to answer your questions, free music and audio workshops led by big-name industry veterans, thousands of dollars in gear and prize giveaways, live performances from world-class musicians, a huge musicians’ flea market, gear deals with discounts up to 80%, free guitar restringing, and lots of other activities and special events.
Sweetwater Sound is located at 5501 US Highway 30 West, about a mile or so west of I-69 on the west side of Fort Wayne. GearFest is open today from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturday from 9 am to 5 pm.
