‘AVATAR: The Exhibition’ is now open at the Children’s Museum of Indianapolis through Sept. 22, 2013.

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis shares the intriguing science and behind-the-scenes secrets of the making of the highest grossing film of all time, James Cameron’s AVATAR.  Become immersed in the culture of Pandora, its plants, creatures and humanoid inhabitants (the Na’vi).  Experience how scenes were created and become the movie director. See actual artifacts and film props such as the fourteen foot tall, 1,400 pound AMP (Armored Mobility Platform) suit used in combat scenes. There will also be 40 real world cultural artifacts from the museum’s collection, some of which may have provided inspiration in the costume design and choice of props used in the movie.

The exhibit, which opened last Saturday, is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Sept. 22 (closed Mondays after Labor Day), and is included in museum admission.

The Children’s Museum is located at 3000 North Meridian Street in Indianapolis. For more information, visit, or call 317-334-3322.
