Two local pianists will perform July 21, 2013, at the University of Indianapolis in a concert to raise awareness and money for the American Lung Association.

The program will include solo and duet selections from composers including Samuel Barber, Amy Beach and Scott Joplin, performed by Rebecca Sorley, associate professor of music at UIndy and organist at St. John’s United Church of Christ, and Allegra Sorley, a recent graduate of Roosevelt University’s Chicago College of Performing Arts.

The performance begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 21, in Ruth Lilly Performance Hall of UIndy’s Christel DeHaan Fine Arts Center, 1400 E. Hanna Ave. Admission is free, but donations are encouraged.

The concert was inspired by a friend’s recent death from causes related to secondhand smoke.

For more information, contact Rebecca Sorley at 317-788-3400 or
