Indianapolis Indians: IL West Division Champions
By Bob Burchfield, Editor
The Indianapolis Indians, Triple A affiliate of the Pittsburgh Pirates, have captured the International League’s West Division championship for the second consecutive year, which means that the playoffs are right around the corner.
This is the final week of the regular season, with home games scheduled for today and Tuesday at Victory Field at 7:05 pm, plus Friday at 7:15 pm and Saturday at 6:05 pm. Tonight’s game with the Toledo Mud Hens is Dollar Menu night with hot dogs, peanuts, Cracker Jack, chips, and popcorn for just $1 each.
The first round of the playoffs is a best-of-5 series. Games 3, 4 and 5 are scheduled at Victory Field on Sept. 6, 7 and 8 at 7:05 pm. As it is a best-of-5 series, Games 4 and 5 will only be played if necessary. The Dollar Menu will be available for all playoff home games.
The first 2,500 fans to arrive for the Sept. 6 game will receive a playoff T-shirt and all fans in attendance will enjoy a fireworks show after the game.
2013 Flex Plan vouchers and Knot Hole Kids Club membership cards will be accepted for home playoff games. Tickets to unplayed playoff games can be used as rain checks for the 2014 season, excluding July 4.
Division Champions T-shirts and other great Indians gear is available at Victory Field’s Hot Corner Gift Shop, open Mon-Fri 9 am to 5 pm, and Sat (in season) 10 am to 4 pm.
Victory Field is located at 501 West Maryland Street in downtown Indianapolis. For more information, visit http://indyindians.com/, or call 317-269-3542.
