By Bob Burchfield, Editor
The 47th annual Marshall County Blueberry Festival begins today in Plymouth, Indiana, and continues through Monday, Sept. 2, 2013.
This popular northern Indiana festival is an annual Labor Day weekend tradition with live music, good food, carnival, a parade on Monday, arts and crafts, vendors, pageant, fireworks, hot air balloon launch, helicopter rides, and lots more. Tonight’s concert features Jake Owen at 9 pm at Centennial Park (rain or shine).
The carnival is open today from 12 to 10 pm, Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 10 pm, and Monday from 10 am to 6 pm. There are festival activities Friday 5-9 pm, Saturday 6 am to 8:15 pm, Sunday 6 am to 9:15 pm, and Monday 6:30 am to 6 pm. Admission to the festival is free. Parking is $5 at the high school.
Most of the Blueberry Festival activities are at Centennial Park, 1660 North Michigan Street, in Plymouth, just over 100 miles directly north of Indianapolis on US Highway 31. But there is a wide variety of activities throughout the community during the four days of this festival.
