WHAT:
The Indianapolis Home Show presented by Xfinity is the nation’s oldest and the Midwest’s largest home-focused extravaganza with more than 900 exhibits. Now in its 92nd year, the Home Show offers thousands of products, decorating, construction and remodeling ideas for visitors to gather and compare.

The Indianapolis Home Show presented by Xfinity is produced by Marketplace Events, which produces 34 consumer shows in 20 markets that collectively attract 15,000 exhibitors, 1.1 million attendees and another 1.5 million unique web visitors annually.

Centerpiece Home!
Fischer Homes will build this year’s Centerpiece Home — a fully-constructed, decorated and landscaped home built entirely inside Exposition Hall, showing off the most current and exciting trends in architecture and style. Fischer Homes will be showcasing its Marshall design with a French Manor elevation. The home is more than 4,000 square feet, excluding the basement. The Marshall being constructed at the Home Show has four bedrooms and three and a half baths located on the main two levels of the home.

Interior designer Joy Perkins from Touch of Class works with Christine Robbins of the Fischer Homes team in decorating the Centerpiece Home to showcase a variety of options for customizing the home interior using a “Fresh Urban” theme. Landscaping comes courtesy of Calvin Landscape in Indianapolis.

Fischer Homes is now building in more than 29 locations in Carmel, Geist, Fishers, McCordsville, Zionsville, Westfield, Noblesville, Avon, Center Grove and Greenwood. New communities are anticipated throughout 2013-2014 in various areas of Indianapolis.

Feature Gardens Offer Greenery GALORE!
Nestled in the center of the West Pavilion and sprinkled throughout the entire Home Show space will be 25,000 square feet devoted to landscaping and gardening, with lavish, landscaped feature gardens! From lovely lilies and ravishing roses to dazzling dahlias and jazzy jasmines, the gardens will offer grandeur of greenery. The gardens will be produced by the area’s top landscape professionals, including: Fiano Landscapes; Country Gardens Lawn & Landscape; Fireboulder/McCune, Inc. Outdoor Living; Justin’s Landscape; Dave’s Lawn and Landscape, Inc.; Litchfield Landscape; Tiffany Lawn & Garden Supply, Inc.; Above and Beyond Tree Service and Landscape; BPI Outdoor Living; Backyard Blessings; Outdoor Environments Group; Greenleaf Landscaping, Inc.; and Kenneth Watson Design.

Out with the Old, In with the New
Kevin O’Connor is the host of the award-winning, PBS home renovation series “This Old House” and “Ask This Old House.” He also began hosting his third series called “This New House,” which airs on the DIY Network. What’s the secret to that home improvement or remodeling project you’ve been working on? Kevin has the answer! Get the new ways to improve your old house when Kevin appears on Saturday, Jan. 25, presented by Angie’s List!

Todd Davis “Crashes” Into the Home Show
HGTV’s “Room Crashers” finds unsuspecting homeowners who need help with their home improvement projects. And Host Todd Davis is just the guy to show attendees how to transform your dull, bland rooms into stunning, eye-popping showpieces with his adventurous design style. Todd will appear on Saturday, Feb. 1 and Sunday, Feb. 2 to share design secrets and answer audience questions!

Get More Curb Appeal with Kimberly Lacy
Born with a green thumb, Kimberly Lacy’s passion for landscaping and interior design started at an early age. As project manager on HGTV’s “Curb Appeal,” Kimberly shares her landscaping tricks of the trade and practical painting tips. See Kimberly on Saturday, Jan. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 26, so you don’t get kicked to the curb!

Want Some House Smarts? Listen to Lou!
Lou Manfredini is the host of “HouseSmarts,” a 30-minute nationally-syndicated home improvement program combining home improvement knowledge and an entertaining look into the projects of real homeowners! Lou also hosts Chicago’s WGN Radio’s “Ask Mr. Fix-It” Program and is a contributor on “The Today Show.” He answers the questions homeowners really want to know and gives insight into the latest trends for the home. Ask him your questions when he appears on Friday, Jan. 24, presented by Marvin Windows!

One-of-a-Kind Home Décor, Arts and Antiques Pavilion
A special Home Décor, Arts and Antiques Pavilion will be open during the first weekend of the Home Show ONLY, Jan. 24-26, in the South Pavilion. Admission to the Indianapolis Home Show presented by Xfinity includes free admission to the “show within a show.” Visitors can enjoy a variety of local interior designers, artists and antique dealers. They will showcase individual pieces of artwork, antiques and the latest in home décor items, including photography, paintings, sculpture and pottery. Attendees will also have the chance to “Ask a Designer” about tips on how to decorate their home! Don’t miss this featured show!

“Food Hacker” Todd Wilbur Spices Up Your Kitchen
Have you ever visited a favorite restaurant and wondered how you could make a recipe to rival that yummy dish? Todd Wilbur has been “creating original clone recipes of America’s favorite foods since 1987,” and he’s got everything you need to mix up some “Top Secret” recipes right in your own kitchen! Todd will appear on Wednesday, Jan. 29 and Thursday, Jan. 30!

Gardening Troubles? Try the Straw Bale Garden!
Can’t do heavy lifting? Poor soil? Limited space? Want to broaden your gardening horizons? All are great reasons to have your very own straw bale garden! Joel Karsten shows you how to grow the perfect vegetable garden even in the worst conditions and with less labor. Dig in to some gardening fun with Joel when he appears on Monday, Jan. 27 and Tuesday, Jan. 28!

Pay honor and tribute to all our heroes on Hero Day, Friday, Jan. 24! All active and retired military, police and fire personnel get free admission for the day. Just bring a valid ID, and come enjoy the Home Show presented by Xfinity on opening day! All heroes will also have access to a private VIP lounge and receive “thank you” goody bags, while supplies last.

Scooby-Doo and Shaggy Too! – Opening Weekend
Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! He will be at the Home Show presented by Xfinity along with his pal, Shaggy. Make sure to come meet Shaggy and his companion Scooby-Doo when they appear at the Home Show in the Xfinity exhibit space and on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage on Saturday, Jan. 25 and Sunday, Jan. 26. Scooby-Dooby-Doo!

Marsh Day Monday – Jan. 27
Show visitors are invited to stop by the Marsh booth from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Marsh Day. The first 750 households to visit will receive a free reusable Marsh grocery bag, one per household, while supplies last. Mary Snell, Marsh Director of Nutrition and Wellness, will offer tips and tools regarding health and wellness as well as highlight Marsh’s in-store nutrition programs from 12-12:30 p.m. on Marsh Day on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage.

Senior Day – Jan. 28
All seniors are invited to come to the Home Show presented by Xfinity with a special discount! All seniors over age 65 with a valid ID can visit the show at half price for the day. Senior Day sponsors are CarDon & Associates and Optum CarePlus.

Did you ever wonder what happens to the food you donate to your local food bank? Don’t miss the Home Show’s Choppin’ Hunger Challenge! Local chefs and celebrities compete to create the tastiest meal from the typical food bank donation items. Come vote on your favorite meal, learn about what foods Hoosier families need most — and make a donation!

Relax at the Wine Garden
Take the chance to visit the cottage and wine garden in the front of West Pavilion! Relax with tastings of wine, and step back into simpler times as you enjoy the customized cottage.
