The historic Paramount Theatre in Anderson, Indiana, celebrates its 85th birthday with three days of special events, Aug. 14-16, 2014.

Thursday, August 14 at 7 pm in the Theater
An Evening with the Gaither Vocal Band

A full evening of entertainment and meaningful music is a rare treat any time, but when the occasion includes the best-loved voices in gospel music…it’s a must-see celebration!  If you attend just one musical event this year, an evening hosted by Bill Gaither and featuring these artists is one you can’t miss.  It will leave you encouraged, grateful and most certainly smiling! The Gaither Vocal Band is coming to The Paramount to help celebrate our 85th birthday with a benefit concert. Tickets available online and at the box office Tuesday-Friday 9am to 5pm. A Night at The Movies a la 1929

To celebrate our 85th birthday we are showing a vintage movie at The Paramount.  Our friends from United Way will also be joining us to see a 1929 Newsreel, silent cartoon, and “The Saturday Night Kid.” Steve Jackson will be narrating Anderson movies from that era.  Main floor tickets are only $2.  Balcony and Mezzanine seating is $20 per ticket and includes special celebration cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. Mezzanine and Balcony guests are encouraged to come in costume!

Paramount 85th Birthday Dance with Larry Mechem Band

One of the lasting memories of many of our Paramount fans is of dancing in the beautiful Hardacre Ballroom.  We couldn’t think of a better way to celebrate 85 years in that beautiful space than to have a dance with Larry Mechem’s band.  All styles of dance and live music makes for a memorable evening.  And don’t forget the birthday cake!  Tickets are $20 per person and will be available at our box office Tuesday-Friday Noon-5pm or online at http://www.andersonparamount.org.  Doors will open at 7:30 pm.
