Editor’s Note: The Capital Grille in Indianapolis is located at 40 West Washington Street in downtown Indianapolis.
The Capital Grille, known for its dry aged steaks and award-winning wine list, launched the new winter additions to its popular “Plates” lunch menu. Selecting from soup or salad and an entrée for $18, guests can customize their lunch with the flavors of the season. The Capital Grille guarantees a lunch experience that won’t exceed 45 minutes when ordering from the Plates menu.

Perfect for warming up from the cold weather, the new winter plates menu offerings feature the Executive Chef’s take on comfort foods. Highlighting the new menu offerings is the Dry Aged Sirloin Hash with Crispy Onions, a savory entrée of sweet peppers and onions, fingerling potatoes and sirloin topped with a soft fried egg. The hearty winter dish draws inspiration from comforting breakfast foods and is accompanied by a new, hearty soup offering, the Creamy Potato Leek Soup.

WHAT: The Indianapolis Home Show is the nation’s oldest and the Midwest’s largest home-focused extravaganza with more than 900 exhibit spaces. Now in its 93rd year, the Home Show offers thousands of products, decorating, construction and remodeling ideas for visitors to gather and compare.

The Indianapolis Home Show is produced by Marketplace Events, which produces 39 consumer shows in the home and garden category that collectively attract 15,000 exhibitors, 1.5 million attendees and another 1.7 million unique Web visitors annually.

Centerpiece Home
Fischer Homes will build this year’s Centerpiece Home — a fully-constructed, decorated and landscaped home built entirely inside Expo Hall, showing the most current and exciting trends in architecture and style.

Interior designer Joy Perkins from Touch of Class works with Christine Robbins of the Fischer Homes team in decorating the Centerpiece Home to showcase a variety of options for customizing the home interior. Landscaping comes courtesy of Calvin Landscape in Indianapolis.

Move That Bus! Ty Pennington Comes to Indianapolis
Debuting in 2000, the reality show “Trading Spaces” helped make Ty Pennington a nationally-known figure as one of the show’s carpenters. He soon became a recognized star and released his first home improvement book. See how Matt can help you upgrade your most-used room with the hottest items around! He appears at the Home Show on Friday, Jan. 23, Saturday, Jan. 24 and Sunday, Jan. 25.

Greenery Growing with Feature Gardens
As the official Indianapolis Home Show Florist, McNamara Florist sets the scene with beautiful customized floral designs at the entryways to the Home Show and throughout the Show’s three exhibit buildings.

Twenty-one landscaped feature gardens offer greenery galore in the center of the West Pavilion, South Pavilion and sprinkled throughout the entire Home Show space.

Home Made by Carmona
A DIY guru with a can-do attitude, Ursula Carmona is a handy wannabe and lover of all things beautiful. She’s a blogger and 2015 Home & Garden Trendsetter finalist with tutorials on how to give your home a makeover on pennies, from decorations and crafts to organized spaces and storage solutions. Ursula has practical DIY tips when she appears at the Home Show on Sunday, Jan. 25 and Monday, Jan. 26.

The Hoosier Gardener Digs into Natural Gardening
As the Hoosier Gardener, Jo Ellen Meyers Sharp has been writing and speaking about natural gardening for more than 25 years. She is the founding editor and former co-owner of “Indiana Living Green.” She is coauthor of “The Indiana Gardener’s Guide” and author of “The Visitor’s Guide to American Gardens” as well as a garden coach. Jo Ellen will show Home Show attendees how to put their green thumbs to work when she appears on Wednesday, Jan. 28 and Thursday, Jan. 29.

Her Highness, the Queen of Free
She’s addicted to getting something for nothing — and Cherie Lowe, the Queen of Free, shares freebies, strategies for everyday savings along with inspiration for those pursuing a debt-free life. Cherie appears weekly on WTHR-TV as a savings expert, and she’s been featured in “The Wall Street Journal” and on Yahoo Finance. Join the court of the Queen of Free at the Home Show on Sunday, Feb. 1!

Learn Some “Mommy Magic” from Mary Susan
Mary Susan Buhner is one of the Midwest’s premier parenting experts, and she is the host of Fox 59’s weekly “Mommy Magic” segment, offering relevant and helpful tips to make motherhood more manageable, fun and affordable. Get the scoop on becoming an inspired, empowered parent when Mary Susan appears at the Home Show on Friday, Jan. 30 and Saturday, Jan. 31!

Tree House Goes Above and Beyond
Above and Beyond Companies, led by Dan Dawson, surely goes above and beyond with an amazing tree house feature that will have Home Show attendees feeling as if they are walking in the woods. Located in West Pavilion in the center of the Home Show, a 200-year-old tree sprawls outward and climbs upward. It is complete with a tree house of epic proportions, featuring all-natural, hand-crafted furniture.

The Choppin’ Hunger Challenge is Back!
Ever wonder what happens to the food you donate to your local food bank? Don’t miss the Home Show’s Choppin’ Hunger Challenge II on Saturday, Jan. 24 at 11 a.m. on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage! Local Chefs Nick Mayes and Sam Brown compete to create the tastiest meal from chop baskets filled with items from Indiana food banks. The meals will be judged by WTTV News Anchor Debby Knox; Jolene Ketzenberger, Eat Drink Indy foodie blogger; and Chef Lauri Griffin, a culinary instructor and associate professor at Ivy Tech Community College. Come sample the meals, learn about what foods Hoosier families need most — and donate!


Hero Day – Opening Day
Pay honor and tribute to all our heroes on Hero Day, Friday, Jan. 23! All active and retired military, police and fire personnel get FREE ADMISSION for the day, plus FREE PARKING at the State Fairgrounds. Just bring a valid ID, and come enjoy the Home Show on opening day! All heroes will have access to a VIP lounge from 1-7 p.m. with prizes and beer samples plus live entertainment from 5-7 p.m.

Marsh Day Monday – Jan. 26
Show visitors are invited to stop by the Marsh booth from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on Marsh Day. The first 750 households to visit will receive a free reusable Marsh grocery bag, one per household, while supplies last. Learn about tips and tools for health and wellness as well as information about Marsh’s in-store nutrition programs on the Unilock Outdoor Living Stage.

Sip in Style at the Tuscan Wine Garden
Inspired by the earthy and natural setting of a Tuscan villa, Cheryl Jacques and her team from Brower/Jacques Design has created an atmosphere where Home Show attendees can relax, dine and sip in style. This feature displays a rounded pergola and wrought iron fence with autumnal touches. PRP Wine International offers samples of wines from around the world — the perfect way to bring the Tuscan hillside to the Home Show.

Rustic Beer Garden in South Pavilion!
There’s beer, too! Taste a variety of craft beers and domestics in the South Pavilion’s beer garden, open for the entire 10-day Home Show. Courtesy of William H. Brown Landscaping in Zionsville, the beer garden combines wood and iron for a rustic feel. Along with greenery and water features, Brown’s beer garden invites in Home Show attendees with a bar and outdoor kitchen surrounded by patio lights.

Getting Artsy
Students from Herron School of Art and Design let their creative juices flow with furniture design projects showcased at the Home Show in the South Pavilion! Check out the heart in their art, with furniture pieces using everything from wood, resins and acrylic to metal, ceramic, concrete and glass.

Furry Friends Show Off Their Fashion
It’s a chance for your furry friends to model their best fashion finds! This fun-filled fashion show on Thursday, Jan. 29 at 6 p.m. benefits Indianapolis Animal Care and Control.
