DETAILS:
All full-time and part-time students enrolled in Indiana colleges or universities are eligible for free admission with a valid college photo ID. Limit one adult per ID please. Online students who do not have student ID’s may bring a copy of the current class schedule as proof of enrollment.

Indy Fuel Preseason Games, Oct. 7-8, 2016

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indy Fuel, proud ECHL affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks and the AHL’s Rockford IceHogs, announced their 2016 preseason schedule Thursday. The Fuel will meet the Fort Wayne Komets in a home-and-home exhibition doubleheader; starting on Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Allen County War Memorial Coliseum, before shifting to Indiana Farmers Coliseum in Indianapolis on Saturday, October 8. Friday’s game in Fort Wayne is scheduled for an 8 p.m. puck drop, while Saturday’s contest in Indy is slated for 6 p.m. ET.

All in attendance at Saturday’s game between the two in-state rivals will receive a 2016-17 Fuel magnet schedule. Indy’s preseason finale will be capped off with a post-game autograph session in the Indiana Farmers Coliseum lobby with the entire team. Tickets for the exhibition showdown are included in all Full-Season, Half-Season, and 9-Game Ticket Plans, and will be just $10 for the general public.

Announcements will be made in the coming weeks with more information regarding preseason and 2016-17 single game tickets, as well as the Fuel’s full promotional schedule for their third season at Indiana Farmers Coliseum.

The organization also announced Thursday the addition of Terry Ficorelli as the club’s new Director of Media Relations. A familiar voice to Indiana hockey fans, Ficorelli brings over 30 years and 3,500 games of play-by-play experience to the Fuel broadcast booth. The Detroit native spent the last six seasons in Evansville – serving as the Vice President of Communications, Broadcasting and Marketing for the CHL and ECHL IceMen from 2010-2014, before holding the same position with the NA3HL’s Evansville Thunderbolts in 2015-16.

Prior to arriving in Indiana, Ficorelli spent 15 years in Muskegon, Mich. manning the microphone for the UHL Fury and the IHL Lumberjacks, providing the call for four Fury championships in a six-year span from 1999-2005. In addition to the team success during his time in Muskegon, “Fic” became the first person to win both UHL Broadcaster of the Year and Public Relations Director of the Year honors twice.

Indianapolis—Indiana Repertory Theatre (IRT) theatre-goers might be delighted to find musketeers off the stage and dueling in front of the historic building for the opening night celebration of The Three Musketeers, which runs September 20 through October 15, 2016, on the OneAmerica Mainstage. 

“Dueling was a mania in France during the era of The Three Musketeers, and the resulting societal cost was high,” said fight choreographer Paul Dennhardt. “We’re approaching twelve duels, brawls and struggles in a way that will emphasize both the adventure and reality of the duels in an exciting, scary, messy, organic and lethal way.” But dueling musketeers aren’t the only thing that will have patrons on the edge of their seats.

The production, under the direction of Henry Woronicz, brings shadowy lighting to create mystery and intrigue, while illuminating the scenic conventions of 17th century France. Add feather-topped hats, boots and suspenseful, adventure-provoking music and away the production goes!

“Whether you come for the wonderful historic costumes, swashbuckling adventure, multiple romance stories or the historical intrigue, our The Three Musketeers contains it all and will sweep you along in an amazing evening of classic theatre with a lot of flair,” said Artistic Director and co-CEO, Janet Allen.

The IRT celebrates opening night with costumed musketeers and a Grins & Giggles photo booth before the production. Patrons will have an opportunity to explore the set and raise a glass with the cast of The Three Musketeers after the performance.

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC), one of Indianapolis’ most recognizable music education and choral, kicks off its 31st season this month.

Season tickets go on sale August 25, 2016, available at www.icchoir.org/tickets.

The 2016-2017 Indianapolis Children’s Choir season will be an introduction to a new artistic director, Joshua Pedde, as he takes over for longtime artistic director and founder, Henry Leck.

Pedde said, “From day one of the ICC’s founding, they’ve been known for excellence in choral music and participation in the major cultural events in the community. I will continue that legacy Henry created and help impact music education as much as I can.”

In its 31 years, the ICC has grown from two small choirs to one of the largest choral organizations of its kind, with nearly 20 choirs and many music classes serving more than 3,000 young people from ages 18 months to 18 years. The ICC impacts an additional 2,000 children through its Innovations program, which directly supports music in local schools. ICC singers have traveled to and performed on six continents and in some of the world’s most recognizable venues and events.

In addition to welcoming Pedde to the podium this season, the ICC will celebrate their commitment to educating young people and the power of community in choral music.
