The Wall That Heals, a traveling 375 foot, 3/4 style replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall in Washington, DC, comes to Greenfield Indiana July 11-14, 2019 (this is a free event open to the public, Thursday through Sunday, 24 hours each day).
Here’s my podcast interview with David Stillinger, Hancock County Coroner and Funeral Director/Owner of Stillinger Family Funeral Home – Pasco Chapel, who is the event organizer and host site for this event:
200 volunteers are needed to help with this event. For more information about this event or to volunteer, visit https://www.greenfieldwall.com.
On a personal note, this will be a deeply personal and emotional experience for me, not only because my college roommate is on The Wall, but because I am a US Air Force veteran who served in southeast Asia during the Vietnam War. And speaking as a former four-year employee of a funeral home in Franklin County, this seems to me to be the ideal setting to present such a traveling exhibit.
I encourage you to visit this exhibit to reflect on one of the most tumultuous periods of American history and how it affected our society.
Think this a great opportunity for folks that can’t make it to d.c. thank u
