INDIANAPOLIS – The Indianapolis Children’s Choir (ICC) kicks off 2017 with the opportunity for new singers to join the group.

Children who didn’t audition for a group at the start of the 2016-2017 school year are welcome to schedule a time to do so beginning in January. Auditions are necessary for singers in grades 4 through 12 and require no formal preparation, students should simply be prepared to match pitch and sing some scales. Early Childhood and Preparatory classes for singers aged 18 months to 3rd grade are also open for enrollment in January 2017.

A full listing of groups and information about how to join or audition is available on the ICC’s website.

The second half of the group’s 31st season also includes Music in Our Schools Month, a celebration of children’s music education throughout the month of March. The ICC uses music to cultivate life skills in young people and has seen the power of music in developing strong adults.”

“As Music in Our Schools Month approaches, we want to as many children as possible to have the opportunity to engage in music programs,” said Artistic Director Joshua Pedde. “These open auditions are an opportunity to reach new students and develop their love for music.”
