Hoosier Park Racing & Casino in Anderson, Indiana has officially announced its 2018 Epic Summer of Music lineup.

Kicking off on June 23 with Randy Bachman, the series will also feature Martina McBride on July 27, George Thorogood and The Destroyers with Foghat on August 3, and Aaron Lewis on Sept. 2. Tickets go on sale to the public May 4, with a special Club Centaur pre-sale event on May 2.

Advance ticket sales are available to Club Centaur members on May 2 at Hoosier Park and Indiana Grand Racing & Casino box offices located in Shelby’s Gifts. Tickets go on sale to the public on May 4, and are available at respective box offices or through Ticketmaster.

All concerts start just after the end of live racing for the evening, and will take place on Hoosier Park’s outdoor music center stage.

Setting the stage for the summer on June 23, Randy Bachman is the founding member of Bachman Turner Overdrive and The Guess Who. He is known as the most celebrated musician in Canadian history, and is famous for 1970s rock hits like American Womanand Roll On Down the Highway.

Country music singer-songwriter Martina McBride, taking the stage on July 27, has two greatest hits albums and has sold more than 14 million records. Known for hits like Independence Day and My Baby Loves Me, McBride has won Country Music Association’s Female Vocalist of the Yearaward four times and Academy of Country Music’s Top Female Vocalistaward three times.

On August 3, George Thorogood And The Destroyers will perform their high-energy blues and rock show with hits like Bad to the Boneand Who Do You Love. Opening for them are classic rock favorites, Foghat. Thorogood has released more than 20 albums, with two certified as platinum and six certified as gold. In 2014, his band celebrated their 40thanniversary of performing and this year has seen the acclaimed release of George’s first-ever solo album, Party Of Oneon Rounder Records.

Back by popular demand, country music star Aaron Lewis will close out Hoosier Park’s summer concert series on September 2 as a part of a special Labor Day weekend celebration. Well known for his hit single That Ain’t Country, Lewis’s indoor show in October of 2017 at Hoosier Park sold out within an hour of going on sale. Lewis is also well-known as a founding member and lead singer of rock band Staind.

In addition to the ticketed shows this summer, Hoosier Park’s annual Fourth of July celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 4 and will feature live harness racing, a free outdoor concert by The Duke Boys and the largest fireworks show in the Indianapolis area.

“Each and every summer, we work to build a first-class concert lineup offering an entertainment experience that is second to none,” said Centaur Gaming President and COO Jim Brown. “Each of these shows bring a different flavor to the outdoor music center, and we’re looking forward to an epic summer of music with our guests.”

The 2018 Epic Summer of Music Series is presented by American Elevator, Inc., Barcardi, Gigi’s Cupcakes, The Herald Bulletin, Maker’s Mark, Hudson Rentals, Modern Trailer Sales, Piazza Produce & Specialty Foods, and Deem Mechanical and Electrical.

The Hoosier Park outdoor music center accommodates up to 4,500 reserved ticket seats. The music center features a wide variety of ticket options, including premium VIP seating and private party decks complete with personal beverage service.

French Lick Resort Named “Best Historic Hotel” in America

The results are in: French Lick Resort has been named Best Historic Hotel in the Readers’ Choice Awards – topping properties nationwide such as Mission Inn Hotel & Spa in Riverside, Calif. and Palmer House Hilton in Chicago.

Out of the 260 hotels recognized by Historic Hotels of America, Lawrence Horwitz, Executive Director of the organization, narrowed down the field to just 20 nominees for the “Best Historic Hotels” category.

After the field was narrowed to 20, readers of USA TODAY and 10Best had the opportunity to vote for their favorite historic properties. After four weeks, the top 10 winners were announced, and French Lick Resort was awarded the title of Best Historic Hotel.

“For USA TODAY’s savvy world travelers to single of French Lick Resort amongst the prestigious list of historic properties speaks volumes about how far we’ve come since our re-opening just nine years ago,” said VP of Resort Operations Joe Vezzoso. “With a readership of 3.1 million, there’s huge opportunity for us to get our property in front of a lot of potential visitors.”

French Lick Resort features two grand hotels nestled in the Hoosier National Forest of southern Indiana. This prestigious award comes less than a week before the resort is set to host the 2015 Senior PGA Championship, May 19-24, 2015, presented by KitchenAid. ‘Guns and Hoses’ Charity Event at Belterra Casino, Mar. 1

Southeastern Indiana’s 911 Gives Hope is pleased to announce the 3rd annual Guns & Hoses charity boxing event taking place Saturday, March 1, 2014, 7:00 pm, at Belterra Casino Resort in Switzerland County. All proceeds will benefit local children. During this inspiring evening, brave law enforcement officers and firefighters, from Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky, who put their lives on the line every day, will put it all on the line in the ring to help protect those who cannot protect themselves. At the conclusion, the team with the most victories will take home the traveling Guns & Hoses Championship Belt.

In 2012 the Guns won for the second time and now the Hoses are looking for redemption. The Guns are looking to walk away with the Championship Belt for the third time. Be there ring side to see who will claim the belt in 2014.

This event is planned to support the regional Children’s Advocacy Center (CAC) that opened in September 2009. The CAC is a neutral child-friendly place where law enforcement officers, child protection services , and prosecutor’s offices from more than 6 counties can bring children for a forensic interview due to an allegation of abuse or neglect. It is important to support this very special place where children, who may not have a voice anywhere else, can go to be heard. And to benefit Angels for Isaac, a non-profit charity for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. Isaac’s dad is an Indiana State Trooper and they live in the tri-state area.

Guns & Hoses charity boxing match will feature exciting boxing matches. Each fight is 3 rounds and is judged by boxing officials. The participants come from around the tri-state area including: in Ohio, Colerain, Whitewater Township, in Kentucky, Hebron, Covington, Ghent, in Indiana, Aurora, Rising Sun, Greendale, Madison, Lawrenceburg, East Enterprise, and more.

The event kicks off at 7:00 pm at Belterra Casino Resort. Tickets are available at Ticketmaster; Belterra Casino Resort.
