Anderson native and violinist Emma Campbell, 16, will perform as a soloist with the Anderson Symphony Orchestra in their first concert of the season Saturday, September 6, 2014, at 7:30 p.m. in the historic Paramount Theatre Center.

The young musician will perform all three movements of Haydn’s Violin Concerto No. 4 in G Major. Campbell is a regular member of the Orchestra’s violin section; however, this is her first time to be featured as a soloist. She is the winner of numerous competitions, including the Hoosier Auditions State Violin Competition, and has performed with other regional orchestras, such as the Lafayette Symphony.

The concert will open with the stirring overture to one of Mozart’s most beloved operas—The Marriage of Figaro. Following the violin concerto, Maestro Richard Sowers will lead the orchestra in a performance of Beethoven’s beautiful seventh symphony.
