Theatre on the Square (TOTS), 627 Massachusetts Avenue, in the heart of Indy’s Arts and Theatre District, has partnered with producer Theater Mogul to bring Defending The Caveman to Indianapolis – a hilariously insightful play about the ways men and women relate. Beginning Thursday, January 23 at 8 p.m. Defending The Caveman will have Hoosier audiences roaring with laughter and recognition.

Defending The Caveman will open with half-price previews on January 23 and 24 ($15); and a VIP-invite only event January 25. Beginning Sunday, January 26, 2 p.m., the show will begin its regular run on TOTS Mainstage. Subsequent performances will be held Fridays, 8 p.m.; Saturdays at 5 p.m. and 8 p.m.; and Sundays at 2 p.m. Tickets are $30. For reservations and information phone the theatre Box Office at Call the Box Office at 317-685-8687 for tickets and information or

Hoosier native Kevin Burke, a Las Vegas Entertainer of the Year, has starred in Defending The Caveman since 2003. As the star of the Vegas production, Kevin performed the show over 3,000 times, making Defending The Caveman the longest-running Broadway show in Las Vegas history.

Nothing short of phenomenal is what best describes Rob Becker’s comic-masterpiece, written over a 3 year period during which he made an informal study of anthropology, prehistoric behavior patterns, psychology, sociology and mythology. A peacemaker in the ongoing misunderstandings between men and women, the show has been seen, recommended and embraced by thousands of psychologists and counselors across the country.

In 1997, Defending The Caveman entered the record books as the longest running solo play in Broadway history. The New York Times called Defending The Caveman “a comic phenomenon.” The show continues to delight audiences all over the world currently on stages in numerous cities, in various languages, in over thirty countries and counting.

The outstanding success and popularity of this hilarious and masterful take on men and women in relationships is not surprising. It speaks to anyone who has ever been in a relationship with his or her own personal, lovable, if somewhat flawed, caveman.
