INDIANAPOLIS, Feb. 21, 2018 – Indiana Sports Corp – Inspiring Sports Equipment for Kids is joining forces with eight Jersey Mike’s Subs restaurants in the Indianapolis area for the 8th Annual March “Month of Giving” campaign to fund local charities. During the month of March, customers can make a donation to Indiana Sports Corp at participating restaurants.

The campaign will culminate in Jersey Mike’s “Day of Giving” on Wednesday, March 28, 2018, when the area Jersey Mike’s restaurants give 100 percent of the day’s sales – not just profit – to Indiana Sports Corp.

On Day of Giving, local Jersey Mike’s owners and operators throughout the country will donate their resources and every single dollar that comes in to more than 170 different charities including hospitals, youth organizations, food banks and more.

In 2017, Indianapolis area Jersey Mike’s locations raised $23,477 for the campaign.

“I would like to extend a personal invitation to you and your family to visit Jersey Mike’s Subs throughout the month of March, and especially on Day of Giving when 100 percent of sales – every penny – will help support neighborhood needs,” said Peter Cancro, Jersey Mike’s founder and CEO, who started the company when he was only 17 years old.

For a list of participating restaurants in your area and for more information on our charity partners, please visit our charity listing by state. Everyone is invited to come in to a local Jersey Mike’s restaurant and enjoy a delicious sub meal.

Last year’s Month of Giving campaign raised more than $5.5 million for local charities nationwide. An astounding $4.6 million of that amount was raised on Day of Giving alone. Since 2010, Jersey Mike’s locations throughout the country have raised more than $28 million for worthy local charities and distributed more than 2 million free sub sandwiches to help numerous causes.

USA Diving, in conjunction with the United States Olympic Committee, has announced that Indianapolis has been selected to host the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving.

The Trials will be held at the Indiana University Natatorium on the campus of IUPUI and will determine the divers who will represent the United States at the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro. More than 100 of the nation’s best divers are expected to vie for spots on the 2016 U.S. Olympic Team. The event will take place over the course of eight days in June 2016, with final competition dates to be confirmed. Pending U.S. qualification, competition will be conducted for both men and women in individual and synchronized 3-meter springboard and 10-meter platform.

Indianapolis previously hosted the Trials in 1984, 1988, 1992, 1996 and 2008. USA Diving will partner with Indiana Sports Corp on the 2016 event.

“We’re excited to bring the Trials back to Indianapolis. The city has such a rich tradition in diving history, and we’re thrilled to continue that in 2016,” said Linda Paul, President and CEO of USA Diving. “We were very impressed with the spirit, vision and commitment the city presented in its bid. We look forward to a great partnership with Indianapolis and the local organizing committee to create a spectacular experience for the athletes, coaches, fans and community.”

Indianapolis was selected following a three-month process that included site visits to six potential host cities before the field was narrowed down to two finalists: Indianapolis and Atlanta. Follow-up site visits were conducted with the two finalist cities, and all information was evaluated before making a final recommendation to the Board of Directors and the USOC.

“Our community is honored to be chosen as the home for the 2016 Trials,” said Allison Melangton, Indiana Sports Corp president. “The bid we put forward was truly one based on how our entire community would embrace the sport of diving and these Olympic Trials. Landing a marquee event such as this is not possible without community support and great partners like the City of Indianapolis, State of Indiana, Indiana University, Visit Indy, and others. We are excited to work with our friends at USA Diving to create a magnificent event for these elite athletes, fans, and a national television audience.”

USA Diving is coming off its most successful Olympic Games in 24 years, having won four medals at the 2012 Olympic Games in London a year ago. Nearly 125 divers competed at the 2012 U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Diving, which received 14 hours of live and taped television coverage on NBC and NBC Sports. Similar coverage is expected for 2016.

With the help of Indiana Sports Corp, USA Diving also will expand and enhance the AT&T H20 Zone, the fan experience area that debuted at the 2008 Trials in Indianapolis and continued at the 2012 Trials.
